Bespoke EPS Steam Room Module – 2.0 × 2.0 × 2.1 m

A made-to-order prefabricated EPS steam-room shell for residential, commercial and wellness installations. Its lightweight insulated construction creates a stable substrate ready for the specified waterproofing and decorative finish.

Recommended steam-room lining system

1. Apply the first coat of Mapei Mapetherm AR1 GG directly to the prepared EPS shell and fully embed Mapei Mapetherm Net while wet, overlapping adjacent mesh by at least 100 mm.
2. After 12–24 hours, apply a second Mapetherm AR1 GG levelling coat to fully cover the mesh and form a compact, even reinforced lining approximately 4 mm thick overall.
3. Use Mapei Mapeflex MS45 flexible sealant/adhesive only at compatible local junctions and service penetrations; it does not replace the continuous steam membrane.
4. Allow the reinforced cementitious lining to cure completely.
5. Install Schlüter KERDI-DS continuously over the walls, vaulted ceiling, floor, benches and backrests.
6. Seal all joints, corners and penetrations with matching KERDI system bands, corners, collars and KERDI-COLL-L.
7. Install the mosaic finish with white Mapei Adesilex P9, achieving full adhesive contact.

Finishing kit – included materials and indicative quantities

• Mapei Mapetherm AR1 GG: 7 × 25 kg bags (175 kg supplied), based on a reinforced two-coat lining approximately 4 mm thick.
• Mapei Mapetherm Net: 35 linear metres of 1 m-wide alkali-resistant reinforcing mesh, including allowance for 100 mm overlaps, bench detailing and cutting.
• Mapei Mapeflex MS45: provisional allowance of 4 × 300 ml cartridges for compatible local junctions and service penetrations.
• Schlüter KERDI-DS: 28 m², including allowance for cutting, laps and detailing.
• Schlüter KERDI detailing components: KERDI-KEBA bands, preformed internal/external corners, pipe collars and KERDI-COLL-L; final quantities are confirmed against the selected door, drain and service penetrations.
• Mapei Adesilex P9 White: 7 × 20 kg bags (140 kg supplied; approximately 125 kg calculated), allowing approximately 2 kg/m² for bonding KERDI-DS and 3 kg/m² for fixing mosaics.
• System note: KERDI-DS and its matching accessories form the continuous steam-rated waterproofing and vapour-control layer. Tiles, grout and sanitary silicone are selected separately.

Quantities cover the complete internal envelope and include a practical waste allowance. Final requirements depend on the confirmed doorway, bench arrangement, penetrations, tile format and substrate condition.

Construction and finishing

The product visual demonstrates the typical compatible construction build-up: EPS structural core, reinforced cementitious lining, steam-rated waterproof and vapour-control membrane, and mosaic tile finish. The base price is for the EPS module supply and London delivery only unless the written quotation expressly includes additional work.

• Complete Installed Package: includes the EPS module, the full specified finishing kit and professional installation labour. Do not select the DIY finishing kit again with this option.
